Finishing up 2009 on a major high, The Angels are planning a series of pub rock shows under the banner ‘Angels Live'. The dates, in late November early December 09, will be the last chance to see the guys play in this environment for sometime.

With a career spanning over 30 years, the band will play their classic hits along with a few other tunes that fans won't have heard at previous concerts. Rick, "With a large repertoire it's easy to forget about songs and looking at the list now I remember how much I used to enjoy playing these songs. We used to open the show with 'Small Price to Pay' (what a great groove) ... and then there were songs like 'Underground' and 'Staring Voices', which brought out the best in Doc's theatrical approach. Planning to include some more of these lost gems in the new set should be nothing short of inspiring. No dubbing or backing tapes are used in The Angels live shows - what you see is what you get - hot, loud, real and rockin and LIVE! An unforgettable night for the fans.

songwriters hall of fame

John Brewster, Doc Neeson and Rick Brewster of iconic Australian rock band The Angels were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in Sydney. The songwriting team were inducted for songs such as Marseilles, Coming Down, After The Rain, Take a Long Line, Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again and No Exit.

"You spend years driving down the highways swapping lyrics, coming up with chords, riffs and melodies in rented houses and hotel rooms and then you realise that some of your songs have left a positive imprint on people's lives," said John Brewster.

the angels reunite

It was a decade ago that seminal Australian rock band The Angels decided to call it a day. Their charismatic frontman, Doc Neeson, was involved in a horrific car accident that prevented him from performing for several years but after rehabilitation he went on to form Doc Neeson's Angels. The rest of the band continued to perform as The Angels Band. In August 2007 tensions boiled over between the two parties and the The Angels court case was splashed across newspapers throughout Australia.
